This performance was in Miamisburg Ohio at
Leigh Waltz studio. It was only a part of many performances in a
workshop setting.
The title was "The Future Now". As I read a poem "I Met the Gods" Louis Wood cut the Oxygen cord that was attached to the liquid Oxygen container. He cut it into pieces and threw the pieces into the audience. The poem/performance was about three minutes long. At one minute three audience members Jatasha, Elizabeth and Nikki started waving Soviet Union Flags. Each of them wore a red Soviet Union cap. They begin yelling "We want.....the future now". Softly at first but after a minute they were yelling louder and had encouraged the audience to do also. The audience drowned out the poem that was about old men and women in Pulmonary Rehab all breathing Oxygen from tubes. They were War Veterans and the poem was about them. But the intent (and it was well done) was to drown the past and work for the future. |
