Down

Down, so low

Lower than a seed buried underground in time of sow.

It’s dark, I’m suffocating

But everyone thinks it’s the right atmosphere for me to grow.

But does anyone discern anything of what’s deep underground?

To them, it’s the perfect place for seeds in the soil as its where the water flows….it’s the sole thing they’ve ever experienced, leaving thousands of rivers and oceans unknown.

But how would they ever know that I’m buried alive with no hope to glow…

The nutrients in the soil are intoxicated by the stupid beliefs that all grow to know.

I’m chained, my heart in pain from experiencing everyday death so morbid….so slow.

From my internal screams, my seed breaks to grow creating a tree that is different, disturbing the sick pattern of a garden with thousands of similar trees living just with the flow…living just to live, and dying just to die, earning just to earn, accepting without ever questioning why?

I will forever remain a different tree, strange but with the clearest thoughts struggling to flee.

I know I’ll reach nothing you expect of me.  I’ll always be a freak.

But I’m sick and tired of a life dominated by minds so weak

Living your life is to much to handle

Strangers and friends too

They are all the same bundle

Fuck this existence

Fuck it for burying me so down under.

This existence is a test of resistance

I will dig out of this grave of insistence

Follow the paths of wisdom

And with my pen change this ugly reality with persistence.

We either choose to accept living so shallow

Or carve out lives deep and enjoy the challenge.

START WITH BLUE LIGHT

Start with 15 seconds of frog sounds from Leopard.wav  repeated twice.

Performer is in the grave moving very slowly.  Hands, Arms then body sitting up.  Then standing up

If Sara insist on using the snake she cannot hold it in her hand nor it cannot be in a significant place.  She can brush it off her chest and let it drop back into the grave.  The snake if obvious would be a conflicting symbol because Amina is trying to discard the symbols of old.

28 seconds

By this time the text should take it out of Halloween context possibilities

Crush heart pack on chest.  Heart pack and glow in text go together.

ABOUT 13 SECONDS BACK TO END OF HEART PACK

SARA HAS ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO DO HER VERSION OF INTERPETIVE DANCE.

These 30 or so seconds should be the sad part of the performance to evoke pathos.

33 SECONDS FROM RISING FROM THE GRAVE

Take out old tree and plant new one

DANCE CONTINUES AFTER PLANTING THE NEW TREE

23 SECONDS FROM PLANTING NEW TREE

Shoot flash.  Dance to back of stage.  Start tearing down pictures.

This is a fast 15 seconds so Sara will have to pick up the pace.  Sara take pen with her

16 seconds to tear down pictures.

WHITE OR YELLOW LIGHT COMES ON

Paint Arabic peace on remaining sheet of paper.

Should use very large black marker to simplify tools and have it partially open so there is no struggle opening it.

About 14 seconds to paint peace

20 SECONDS FROM “FUCK THIS EXISTENCE”

End with 15 seconds of frog sounds.  Tree.wav

During this last 15 seconds Sara will wash her face with the hidden water pan

If time is needed beyond the frog sounds then use the silence since there are a few seconds left.
